About The Hearing Wellness Center
The Hearing Wellness Center, LLC was founded by Alan E. Oshinsky, MD, Chief of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland, who recognized the need to proactively reach out to seniors for early detection and treatment of Age-Related Hearing Loss. The Hearing Wellness Center services the community in two ways: by evaluating and treating patients of all ages in our physical audiology clinic on York Road in Lutherville-Timonium and by bringing those same services directly to seniors at retirement communities, assisted living facilities.

The Hearing Wellness Center, LLC was founded by Alan E. Oshinsky, MD, Chief of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland, who recognized the need to proactively reach out to seniors for early detection and treatment of Age-Related Hearing Loss. The Hearing Wellness Center services the community in two ways: by evaluating and treating patients of all ages in our physical audiology clinic on York Road in Lutherville-Timonium and by bringing those same services directly to seniors at retirement communities, assisted living facilities, and similar establishments through a mobile unit. Both the physical clinic and our “clinic on wheels” are equipped with sound-proof booths for hearing testing and the necessary tools for hearing aid treatment and services.

Dr. Oshinsky is a Board Certified member of the American Board of Otolaryngology, and a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology. In practice as an ear, nose, and throat doctor for 34 years, Dr. Oshinsky specializes in otolaryngology and surgery with a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of snoring, obstructive sleep apnea, and tinnitus. His other areas of interest include the treatment of nasal and sinus problems, and pediatric ear, nose, and throat problems.
Dr. Oshinsky is Chief of the Division of Otolaryngology at Mercy Medical Center, and is on staff at Northwest Hospital Center and St. Joseph Hospital in Baltimore. He did his Otolaryngology, head and neck surgery residency training at the University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore, MD, from 1981 to 1986, and was Chief Resident from 1985 to 1986. Dr. Oshinsky graduated from the Central University of the Caribbean, San Juan Puerto Rico in 1981.
Dr. Sofia Roller

Dr. Roller is a Maryland native whose passion for hearing healthcare stems from her personal experience. She was born with genetic single-sided deafness and grew up with family members who are also deaf and hard-of-hearing. She received her undergraduate and clinical doctorate degrees from James Madison University. She is a fellow member of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology and has served on the Maryland Academy of Audiology as the president, convention chair, and member-at-large. Dr. Roller specializes in treating patients with hearing loss through advance hearing aid technology, which she uses for her own hearing loss every day. Dr. Roller is passionate about early intervention for congenital hearing loss, improving quality of life for all ages through advanced hearing technology, and advocacy/accommodation for those with hearing loss.
Dr. Roller has also enjoyed sharing her knowledge and experiences outside of the clinic; she was featured on the news explaining the Yanny vs Laurel controversy and has been a guest speaker for the “On The Ear” podcast.
Dr. Deirdre Courtney

Dr. Courtney is a Maryland native whose passion for hearing healthcare spans the ages. She received her undergraduate and clinical doctorate degrees from Towson University. She holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association and has served on the Maryland Academy of Audiology as the president, convention chair, and member-at-large. Dr. Courtney specializes in pediatric and special population evaluations as well as treating patients with hearing loss through advanced hearing aid technology. Dr. Courtney is passionate about early intervention for congenital hearing loss, improving quality of life for all ages through advanced hearing technology, and advocacy/accommodation for those with hearing loss. Dr. Courtney resides in Mount Airy with her husband, son and daughter, dog, and flock of chickens. Her passion is her community, including her children’s sports and school.
